Installing Ruby in full on Ubuntu Edgy Eft

If you’re a Ruby developer, then simply running ‘apt-get install ruby’ isn’t going to give you everything you’ll be wanting. I trimmed down a list from the Rails wiki to something that will run without complaint on a vanilla install of Edgy:

sudo apt-get install irb irb1.8 libdbm-ruby1.8 libgdbm-ruby1.8 libopenssl-ruby1.8 libreadline-ruby1.8 libruby1.8 libruby1.8-dbg rdoc1.8 ri1.8 [...]
